Radiation protection in medical health care

About us

Hi there!

This is the websight of Anders and Jorunn. We are going to live in Kathmandu for 10 months to work in a project about medical radiation protection. The project is a collaboration between the University in Tromsø, the Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu and the Norwegian Peace Corp. The aim of the project is to improve the radiation protection in health care, and also to stimulate to the establishment of a national radiation protection authority. Our visit in Nepal will be from the 5th of October 2011 until the beginning of August 2012. We are very happy to have the opportunity to do this! We have been there two times before, but that was many years ago, so we are very curious how the the Nepali society have changed since our last visit.

Anders is a senior advicer in the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority and have also a part time position as an associate professor at Gjøvik University College. He has long experience in radiation protection, quality control, authority audit etc. in diagnostic radiology, and despite his many years in an office he still thinks that he can do some practical work in a Radiology department :-) Jorunn is a radiation therapist and mainly involved in brachytherapy procedures at the Oslo University Hospital, department of the Norwegian Radium Hospital. She has a certification in brachytherapy. She has also experience with mammography screening and nuclear medicine.

If you want to follow us and maybe also comment on what we are doing, is this the place!
